*“Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally.” (Jon Kabat-Zinn) Yoga promotes a state of mindfulness, a state in which we are willing to let go of the filters that our mind puts between us and our experiences. Mindfulness yoga promotes an awareness that begins to allow us to accept the experiences of our present lives without judging each experience as good or bad. Mindfulness yoga promotes peace and equanimity and reduces stress and suffering.
